Always a reliable spot

I've been using NexGen Virtual for a few years now to keep an eye on the market. This time, I was looking for sustainability consultant positions. Like before, the site was consistent. I set up my job alerts again and received relevant postings pretty quickly. I've always found their listings to be up-to-date, which isn't always the case with other sites. It's why I keep coming back here when I'm casually looking or serious about a move. The interface is familiar, and it just works.

Decent resource, some glitches

I used NexGen Virtual to look for clean technology roles. The job listings were pretty relevant, and I appreciate that it's focused specifically on renewable energy. I signed up for career coaching, and that session was helpful; the coach gave some good pointers for my resume. However, applying for jobs on the site itself was a bit clunky at times; a few links took me to external sites that weren't always mobile-friendly. Also, the search filters could use some improvement to narrow things down more precisely. Still, a solid platform for the niche.

Found a good job lead

I was just browsing for solar energy jobs and stumbled onto NexGen Virtual. Signed up for some job alerts. It was pretty easy, and I actually got an email about a position in my area a few days later. Applied through their link. Pretty straightforward process overall, no complaints.

How does this site stack up against Climatebase? I'm trying to decide where to focus my job search for wind turbine roles.

P Phil Brooks 3 weeks ago
NextGenEnergyJobs feels more focused on the actual 'energy' side, like solar, wind, storage. Climatebase is broader, like general climate tech. Depends on what you're looking for.

I used both. Found NextGenEnergyJobs had more pure engineering and field ops roles for wind. Climatebase had more policy or software jobs for me. Both are good though.

Is NextGenEnergyJobs actually legit for finding clean energy jobs? Or is it just another resume black hole?

A Andre P. 1 month ago
Totally legit. Found my current role through them. They specialize, so the quality of listings is usually higher than general job boards.

It's good for renewable energy specifically. I think it's better than just searching on LinkedIn because everything is relevant. They refresh listings pretty often too, from what I've seen.

I heard something about a non-profit discount for posting jobs? Is that still a thing?

T Troy 4 weeks ago
I think they do offer something for non-profits, yeah. Pretty sure I saw that mentioned when I was looking into posting some roles for our conservation group.

Yep, they have a non-profit discount. You probably have to contact them to get it set up, it's not like an automatic checkout thing.

Hey, I'm looking to post a bunch of jobs for my solar company. Do they ever do discounts for employers?

C Cody 1 month ago
Yeah, I've seen them offer bulk job credit deals sometimes. Like if you buy 5 or 10 postings at once.

They do, but it's usually not a public coupon code kinda thing. More like if you're buying a lot or if you're a new recruiter they might give you a trial discount. Best to probably just ask their sales team directly.
